The Pacific Rim Conference planning team knows that as we enter the new millennium, the world is faced with massive challenges as well as opportunities to solve them. This programmatic area is interested in dynamic, creative ideas and sustainable solutions which can be adopted in a society or community, resulting in positive social changes. Innovation is intentionally bringing into existence something new that can be sustained and repeated and which has utility and value. This might includes new scientific knowledge or theories, social enterprises, inventions, applications, or campaigns which offer innovative solutions to pressing social issues as it relates to persons with disabilities. Each year one pressing issue will be chosen.
