Youth Advocacy and Leadership
The future of the social justice, self-determination and advocacy rests with our youth and emerging leaders with disabilities. Young people (ages 13-30) will present in the following areas: International Youth Issues (social justice, disability rights, self-determination and self advocacy in other countries: What does it look like and best practices; Emerging Leader Initiatives: empowerment initiatives and action plans; Youth/Emerging Leader Political Involvement: Engagement in political and policy processes; Self Advocacy Groups; and programs provided for our youth and young people to help them—How can we make these programs better? Presentations include:

- Empowering Youth to Lead Self-Determined Lives
- SWEATing is Fun: The Student Wellness Exercise and Advocacy Training Program at Auburn University Montgomery
- Giving Voice to Youth
- “Self-Advocacy for Youth: How to Build Upon the Disability Rights Movement”
- Using your Torch to Light Another: Mentoring Youth with Disabilities
