Employment
A Rightful Place in Historic Times
Not since World War II, has the United State Workforce been posed to take another giant leap into the future to become a more creative, productive, diverse workplace. Workers with disabilities have a rightful place in historic times.
However, and despite decades of social justice advocacy and education, there remains easily eliminated barriers and misconceptions associated with hiring practices, and the worth and contribution of people with disabilities as valuable employees.
This year our presentations will showcase proven, successful and practical employment practices and policies that demonstrate the common sense and the valuable contributions that workers with disabilities make in today’s global economy. There will be demonstrations of the day-to-day and routine successes of people with disabilities in their jobs, careers and self-employment. In doing so, we strive to continue the process of deconstruction of misunderstandings and diminishing hiring fears, woes and discriminatory practices.
