Hawaii STRIDE Transition Workshop
Monday, May 4: 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm, Hawaii Convention Center, Room 307A
The Hawaii STRIDE Transition workshop will interactively share information and many resources for use in a community-based, mentoring project for culturally diverse young adults with disabilities in transition with a goal of employment or higher education. The session will conclude with a mentor and mentee panel “talk story” session.


Personal Biography
Dr. Brandt has served as the Director of the Pacific Basin Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (PBRRTC) since 2004. She directs federally funded projects that provide mentors for young adults with disabilities and is implementing a peer mentoring project for persons with traumatic brain injury. PBRRTC also provides evaluation and technical assistance to Hawai‘i Vocational Rehabilitation and Services to the Blind Division. She has a Master’s degree in public policy and a doctorate from the University of Hawai‘i. Support from East West Center from 1984 to 1990 helped her complete graduate degrees.
