Pacific Footprints of Change: Walking the Talk

The Pacific Rim Conference program entitled Pacific Footprints of Change: Walking the Talk seeks proposals from persons interested in “talking story,” making presentations, or leading a discussion that will enable participants to explore culturally appropriate ways of promoting positive change for people with disabilities throughout the outer Pacific regions of Micronesia and Polynesia—at home, in school and in the community. Topic leaders are particularly interested in presentations that relate to the priority needs of outer Pacific people with disabilities. Some examples include: Functional Hearing Assessment, Sex Education, Transition, Educational Interpreters, Deaf Education, Parent & Family Involvement and Support, Related Service Assistants, Disability Rights, Pacific Voices, Inclusion, and Self-Determination. This topic area will feature noted speakers, breakout sessions, panel discussions, and poster display/presentations.
