The Hawaiian word “pono” means much more than goodness or righteousness. This session will focus on the traditional native Hawaiian understanding of pono and how it can be integrated and applied in our contemporary educational system. Based on Malcolm Naea Chun’s current work for the Ka Wana Series, we will journey together through discussion and activities on a pathway of discovery as to how pono can enhance teaching and learning.
