Community Inclusion
Presentations are encouraged on the following topics:
- Post Secondary education opportunities with demonstrated employment outcomes.
- “Success Stories” of inclusion achievement in the areas of transportation, employment, respite education, housing or advocacy. When sharing these stories, the effect we would like to have is that participants will ask themselves, “Is this happening in my community?” and if not, “What can I do to make this happen?”
- Empowerment strategies to increase effective self advocacy.
- Private sector employers that have demonstrated success including persons with disabilities.
- Successful transition opportunities from the teen years to young adults.
- Incorporating healthy lifestyles for persons with intellectual disabilities through community organization participation.
