Innovative Classrooms: Access to Success
“Education is equipping our children to walk through doors of opportunity.”
L.B. Johnson
This strand will share innovative, research-based practices found in effective schools and inclusive classrooms. Focused on student achievement and learning, sessions will address whole school reform; standards-based instruction, assessment, and IEPs; and content-area academics including literacy, the arts, and career exploration. Other areas of interest are specialized settings/programs for students with intense needs; the preparation of highly qualified, effective teachers and paraprofessionals; middle and high school opportunities for students with disabilities; and partnering with service providers, parents, and others in the classroom.
